Public links allow you to share your audio projects with anyone, anywhere. Perfect for showcasing your portfolio, sharing with clients, or promoting your work on social media.

What are public links?

Public links are shareable URLs that give anyone with the link access to your project. Unlike direct invitations, public links don't require email addresses and can be shared widely.

  • Share via URL without requiring email addresses
  • No Wubble account needed for viewers (configurable)
  • Optional password protection for secure sharing
  • View-only by default to protect your work
  • Track views and listener analytics
  • Can be revoked or regenerated at any time

Public link settings

Customize your public links with various security and access options.

  • Login requirement: Choose whether viewers need a Wubble account
  • Password protection: Add a password for additional security
  • Expiration date: Automatically disable the link after a set date
  • Download permission: Allow or prevent downloading the audio
  • View limit: Set a maximum number of views (Pro and higher)
  • Branding: Customize the player appearance with your logo (Teams/Enterprise)

Use cases for public links

Public links are versatile tools for various professional and creative scenarios.

  • Portfolio: Showcase your work to potential clients or employers
  • Social media: Share on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook
  • Client delivery: Send preview links for approval
  • Press kit: Include in EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for media
  • Submissions: Share with record labels, publishers, or competitions
  • Teaching: Share examples with students or workshop participants

Tips

  • Use password protection when sharing via public channels like social media
  • Set expiration dates for time-sensitive shares like client reviews
  • Disable downloads to prevent unauthorized distribution of your work
  • Enable login requirement to track who accesses your project
  • Create separate links for different audiences (clients vs. public)
  • Use custom branding for a professional appearance when sharing with clients
  • Monitor analytics to understand how your work is being received
  • Regenerate links if they're shared beyond your intended audience

Notes

  • Free plans support basic public links. Pro plans add password protection, expiration dates, and analytics. Teams/Enterprise plans include view limits and custom branding.
  • Public links are view-only by default. Edit permissions require direct invitation.
  • Regenerating a link immediately invalidates the old link. Anyone with the old URL will lose access.
  • Download permission applies to audio export, not the project file itself.
  • Link analytics show views, unique visitors, average listen time, and geographic data (Pro and higher).

Frequently Asked Questions

How do public links differ from direct invitations?

Public links can be shared with anyone without knowing their email addresses and don't require approval. Direct invitations are sent to specific people and allow for higher permission levels (Comment, Edit).

Can someone with a public link edit my project?

No. Public links are always view-only. If someone needs edit access, you must invite them directly with Edit permissions.

What happens if I regenerate a public link?

The old link becomes invalid immediately, and a new unique URL is generated. This is useful if you need to revoke access without disabling public sharing entirely.

Do viewers need a Wubble account to access public links?

By default, no. You can optionally enable "Require Login" to track who views your project and prevent anonymous access.

Can I see who has viewed my public link?

If login is required, you can see exactly who viewed the project. For anonymous access, you'll see aggregate analytics (total views, listen time, geography) on Pro plans and higher.

How secure are password-protected links?

Password-protected links are secure against casual sharing, but anyone with both the link and password can access your project. For highly sensitive work, use direct invitations with specific permissions.

Can public links expire automatically?

Yes! Pro plans and higher support expiration dates. The link will automatically become invalid after the set date and time.
